Use Priority Rules With Deadline
Posted on September 19th, 2009 No commentsI know everyone are busy with their work. If you are employee, I don’t believe employer will pay you monthly salary but ask you do nothing in the office. It should be tons of works assigned to you. Am I rite?
Be a smart employee, you should know how to prioritize your work. Important work is being done first. If important work keeps piling in, then you will encounter a big problem. Because those low priority works will never ever done.
What is the problem? How to solve it?
The problem is we set the wrong priority rules. The correct way is to use priority rules with “Deadline”. We should set a deadline for low priority work. If the deadline is close, then low priority works must become high priority automatically. -

Traffic Light Theory
Posted on August 27th, 2009 No comments
A man is taking taxi to a place that not too familiar. Along the way, he encountered 5 or 6 consecutive traffic red lights. Seeing reaching the junction soon, eventually still ran into a red light. This man casually say: “It’s bad luck! Stop consecutive at the red light”.
The driver reply with sincere smile: “Don’t be sad! God is fair, we are always the first can go when green light is on!”
In your life journey, you’re always facing both red and green lights. Red light is let us slow down to think and plan for next step. And life’s journey is not blindly move forward without a proper planning.

Backup is Your Second Life
Posted on August 19th, 2009 No comments
To my loyal visitors, I know you should encounter error when visiting AnyGreatIdea.com within these few days. This is due to the web server files are corrupted with unknown reason. I was communicate with relevant party (hosting company), they feedback the server is in well condition, they suspecting my website had been hacked by someone. The worst case I might lost all database in my website, my entire efforts to build up this “Ideas Database” might be gone…..
Oh….no, I am stunned when receive this news. My mind is keep asking myself whether am I do “BACKUP” of database before? I trying hard to recall back my memory, searching everywhere in my PC, hoping can get back my previous backup. Eventually I was so lucky to found my backup copy…..thanks god
After this incident, something I learn is “Backup is really important for life”. Backup is not only applied to computing, but it can be applied to everything in your life. For example, why people buy insurance? Insurance actually like a backup to cover a part of loses in case any disaster happen.
In Business, “Backup plan” devised for a specific situation when things could go wrong. Some people call “Contingency plan”, or “Plan-B”. So…do you have your Plan-B? Well, you MUST have a Plan-B ok?

Chilis Theory
Posted on August 15th, 2009 1 commentPeople who sell chili, it is always come across the same question from buyer,
“Is your chili spicy?”
This is tricky question. If answer “spicy”, perhaps buyer is a fear of hot and leave immediately; If answer “less spicy,” it might be buyer is looking for hot spicy chili.
The well-known method is separate chili into 2 groups, spicy and less spicy. Where this is basic theory from study book. In real life, there are many other solutions or even better solution.
When the buyer asking, I will answer “deep colors are spicy, light colors are less spicy” then let buyer to choose for themselves. By doing this, I don’t need to spend time separate those chilies. Further, my statement is more flexible for different situation. For instance, I even can tell the buyer
“smaller size are spicy, bigger size are less spicy”
“shorter are spicy, longer are less spicy”My idea today, there is always more than one solutions, just think out of the box and you can make the different.

Work Smart not Work Hard
Posted on July 31st, 2009 No commentsIf you refer to my previous article “Earn More, Work Less and Enjoy Life”, I have mentioned about Parato Principle 80/20.
- 80% of your result comes from 20% of your effort
You may get detail explanation at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareto_principle
Here I want to emphasis ”everything have both side“. If you look from the other way, probably you will see:
- 80% of your effort only generates 20% of result
Due to this reason, you may heard people always say “work smart, not work hard”
To work smart with Parato principle:
Assuming all 10 tasks take equal amount of time and effort. If you have selected the 2 key tasks and done a good job, you would have secure your job by 80%.Must be careful, in real world, team work is definitely needed to completed a task. Therefore, you must ensure that your team member is smart enough to work with you. If not, even you are smart, but you still get stuck.

The Healthy Way to Lose Weight Fast
Posted on July 25th, 2009 No commentsWhite flour is your enemy no. 1
Don’t eat products that contain white flour and you must replace all white flour products with vegetables (preferably green leafy vegetables). I suggest Broccoli has protein and many health benefits.Sugar is your enemy no. 2
Stop or reduce eating any sugar products. Product like chocolate, candies, cookies and etc are completely sabotage any healthy diet and make you fat quick.Be sure to eat five small meals a day
When you replace white flour products with vegetables and stop eating simple sugars, you will want that small healthy meal every 3-4 hours. If you need to lose weight fast, be sure to eat a source of protein at every meal. If you think of your plate in thirds, one third will be protein, one third vegetables and one third complex carbohydrates (sweet potato, whole grain wild rice and etc…)Drink lots of water
Drink only plain water. Please eliminate sugar drinks, coffees, sodas and even diet coke. I don’t trust diet coke can help to lost weight. If you want to drink not just plain water, drink fruit juice…No sugar fruit juice.Do exercise
Remember, you can lose weight either by decreasing your calorie intake or increasing the number of calories you burn. Any health strategy should include both, but if you want to lose weight fast, exercise is essential. If you prefer to go to gym and do aerobics GREAT! Just keep going. Typically you should “move your body” for 30-60 minutes, 3-5 times a week for best weight loss results.Get enough rest
You body is not a machine. You must get enough sleep at night, since sleep deficiency impairs your ability to lose fat.Be consistent and disciplined, and have self motivation
To lose weight effectively, you need to stick to your weight loss plan religiously. When you have the thought of giving up, visualize how good you will look when you manage to slim down successfully.Warning:
Losing weight too quickly is dangerous and can have adverse effects on your health. If you find yourself losing more than 500g each week, you are probably doing something wrong. Please consult doctor…. -
Difference Between Effectiveness and Efficiency
Posted on July 22nd, 2009 1 commentIn my previous article “Earn more, Work less and Enjoy life”, I did mention about the different between effectiveness & efficiency. These two terms feel similar but confusing many people. Therefore, you must be clear with the basic concept of this 2 terms, if not it could be pretty disastrous for success and growth.
What is difference between effectiveness and efficiency?
To make is simple and short, here is the definition. Effectiveness: It means getting work done or achieving the desired result. Efficiency: It means achieving result in the most economical manner using minimum resources.
For example, Effectiveness simply relates to reaching goals, so a company that has captured a 75% market share is very effective. Efficiency relates to how much they needed to spend or invest in relation to their effectiveness. If two companies each had only a 0.1% rejection rate off the assembly line, they would be equally effective. But if the first company invested half as much as the second company in quality control, the first company is twice as efficient as the second company.
A true success is achieving goal with both effectiveness & efficiency way
